Reporting to the Outlet Team Leader the Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience that reflects Sofitel’s Art de Vivre — the art of refined living. With warmth, elegance, and professionalism, the Hostess welcomes guests, manages reservations, and ensures a seamless flow of service throughout the restaurant. This role embodies Sofitel’s commitment to French sophistication and heartfelt hospitality by creating a gracious and memorable first impression, ensuring each guest feels genuinely valued from arrival to departure. Your Responsibilities Include Welcome and greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a positive first impression. Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and introduce them to their assigned server with poise and confidence. Deliver personalized and attentive hospitality by anticipating guest needs, preferences, and special requests. Manage restaurant reservations efficiently, including confirming, updating, and coordinating bookings to ensure smooth seating arrangements. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly, professionally, and with discretion. Maintain a polished, elegant, and welcoming presence at the restaurant entrance at all times. Coordinate closely with the service and culinary teams to ensure seamless communication and efficient service flow. Assist in promoting restaurant offerings, special events, seasonal menus, and other dining experiences. Maintain accurate guest records, including reservation details, guest preferences, special requests, and seating assignments. Monitor table availability and turnover, managing seating arrangements to optimize operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. Support restaurant operations during peak periods by assisting service staff as required. Ensure compliance with Sofitel brand standards, service procedures, grooming policies, and operational guidelines. Follow all hygiene, food safety, health, and sanitation procedures in accordance with HACCP standards and applicable local regulations. Liaise effectively with the Outlet Manager, team leader, and service teams regarding guest flow, VIP arrivals, special occasions, and other arrangements. Communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar teams regarding large groups, dietary requirements, special requests, and service timing. Maintain effective and courteous communication with the Concierge, Reservation and Front Office teams to coordinate guest reservations, preferences, and special arrangements. Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a Hostess or Guest Relations role within a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident and welcoming demeanor. Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage. Proficient in reservation and table management systems Impeccable personal presentation and grooming in line with Sofitel standards. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion. Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays
